About to re-start my journey, this time with MFP!

Hey All,
I'm about to re-start my journey to being slim after a 2 year (and slight weight gain) break. I have previously lost 42lb but annoyingly let 9lb creep back on... Kick-started the weight loss again after Xmas, as we all do and this time I'm determined to carry on till I reach my goal! I've managed to lose 10lb in the last 3 weeks and the plan is to attempt to lose 100lb approx in total. I've always been a big girl, never had the joy of being slim and feel it's about time I did and it's not going to happen unless I get off my bum and sort it! If anyone wants to add me, feel free, I'll try my best to keep in touch and lend support etc... : )
Thanks
Cat xx

Hi Cat,
I'm Michelle. I know where you are coming from. I have spent most of my adult life overweight. I also would like to lose 100 lbs. I am the heaviest that I have ever been in my life. Two years ago, I had lost around 40 lbs, but managed to not only gain the weight back, but add even more. Arrggh! It is so frustrating to think that I was almost halfway to my goal and I let that go. So, I am starting the journey again. I have managed to lose 14 lbs in my first 3 weeks, 4 of which were before I started MyFitnessPal.com. I am giving myself small reasonable goals. For instance, I just achieved my first two. One was to make it through January without breaking down and eating fast food (with the exception of allowing myself one day a week when I get a baked potato, caesar side salad and small chili from Wendy's for lunch). The second - when I started MFP, I put in a goal to lose 10 lbs. I have recently met that goal. I just gave myself another goal of losing 10 more lbs. I hoping that giving myself small, reachable goals that I will eventually achieve the big one.
Good luck to both of us!!!0 -
Hi Michelle!
Yeah small achievable goals is the key I think! Not sure if I'm going to be able to keep up with filling in the food diary on here as I've already failed miserably by not filling in last night and not weighing everything etc... ! However I think I'm going to use it to record the weight loss, record exercise and for support etc... I seem to have been doing ok without the food diary up till now so we'll see! Plus although UK foods are listed it's a bit awkward with the measurements etc... I'll just stick to what I know I think! We'll see!

I am starting my journey on here also. It shows I joined in June 2011 and have had no motivation to stick with anything but I am DETERMINED this time to do what needs to be done! I may need a shove every now and again but I am ready to do this!!

Hi Pam,
Awesome, half of the battle they say is wanting to do it and I think sometimes as much as you think you can do it and want it, sometimes you're just not in the right mind set but you seem there! Focussed and ready for it! You can do it!
