If I lived alone, I'd be GOLDEN! I do pretty well with eating right and of course, my share of sweets in moderation.

But my husband? OY! He makes me crazy!! He wants junk food to munch on at night and I don't want it in the house. Since I do the grocery shopping, I never buy any. Well that just leaves him to do McDonald's runs at night. (Which I say no to!) And he'll order pizza or go buy a sub.

Tonight he went to the store and bought some fatty, sugary cereal. (More Cinnamon Toast Crunch! Just after I thought I successfully got past the last box he got and ate and now this one too?) He buys cookies and candy bars.

It's so freaking hard to say no! I do it, but sometimes it's not easy. If he'd disappear he'd make my life easier! :)

How many of you have someone standing next to you with a gun to your head, telling you to eat? Blaming someone else for your problems is counter-productive - you need to be accountable for your own actions.
I am crushed you would say this -

Apologize now, or else I will march in that kitchen and eat 20 girl scout cookies with a quart of ice cream.
Poor me, poor, pitiful me.....I feel like a lonely little petunia in an onion patch....and all I do is cry all day..

Would it be insensitive to mail you a fresh batch of cookies at this point?
Actually, it's all too easy to fall into the blame trap. I can see how people can sniveling themselves to failure, rationalizing the whole way down the toilet that is their life.

  • I'll blame Lou Malnati and his deep dish heaven along with Anhauser Busch.
  • This thread is awesome! If I could blame anyone but myself, it would be....MYSELF!!! lol.. I got an autoimmune disorder and I had to give up my passion of dancing and I didn't change my eating habits so, I gained a ton of weight!

Don't forget their little Blue Bunny! I say we gang up on them and take them DOWN!
  • Mine is a dude named MetABolism. He sat down about the time I turned 31 and I'm trying to coax him to get up now; 5 years later. I may not be terribly big but he let me put on about 30 pounds I wasn't used to dealing with. Now if I can talk him into taking about 15 back I'll be happy.

my ex husband for being a douche and making me feel like crap all the time.

^^^^^ THIS!!!!! although in my case it's an ex-fiance and he was on welfare, refused to let me work and then would blow all our money at the beginning of the month so were stuck eating ONE MEAL a day that consisted mostly of carbs for the last two weeks of the month. I should have left sooner but didn't but still... all his fault!! LOL
  • I'd have to blame my two kids. Yes i said it, but there is a very good reason for it. Pregnancy makes me so sick i literally become nearly anorexic (HERS Disease). 35 pounds lost with first , gain back 15, and 25 pounds down with second. when i actually started to intake nutrition again after the second (and last) i gained nearly 50 pounds in three years. I also suffer from hormonal imbalances that are just now under control (another side effect from the girls!) So yes i wholly blame my kids and I'm not ashamed!!

McDonalds - For been at the train station on my way to and from school
KFC - For giving me a job there, where I could eat all day for free
Will Power - Cause that *kitten* deserted me when food was around, although he was there for me when I quit smoking in 2005.

    It's all their fault.

Ha ahahahaha, the "Smart Popcorn!!!!" Yeah! I totally agree, and friggin Lil Debbie and her Pals. Hostess..what kind of "Hostess" gives you a chocolate covered cake in MARSHMELLO dream creme with coconut and then paint it HOT PINK and expect me to eat just one..they come in a packet of 2. How rude would I be to just eat one? *****es.
  • a bum knee that kept me practically immobile for 2 years, after a VERY active lifestyle. My own hole in my face between my nose and my chin. And a devestating illness a bit over a year ago that has left me with heart problems. But I'm getting mine back! I love this thread! I'd also like my own swing at Little Debbie, those cute little girl scouts and my family who were trying so hard to help me get well with all the wrong foods! Now we have talked and we are all on the same page! 6 pounds down and still going strong!

Those "evil" little girl scouts that camp outside of Kroger, etc. Everyone else may hear in a sweet little voice, "Would you like to buy some cookies?" But I hear in a demonic voice, "Buy some cookies or I break your knee caps!" How can you say no to that??? Plus, once the cookies have been bought, they can't go to waste...
BAAHAAAHAA! I almost fell over laughing!!

I blame my 20 year old self . . . . A night of drinking, followed by a huge convenient store hogie, stuffed with chips . . . and more beer?! Whose idea was that? haha!
  • Me, myself, and I.

A little house called Hut that serves pizza, a little scout of female persuasion with her yummy baked treats, and a 4'9" woman named Grandma who provided me with a genetic addiction to chocolate.

I do not see the point of this thread, or why it is under "Motivation and Support" placing blame isn't going to help anyone lose weight

I don't think you got the joke. She was blaming "little debbie" the company that makes delicious fattening sweets

All the people blaming others are kidding themselves. Unless you were physically force fed it's 100% your own fault.

It's all about self control, and most of us are here due to a lack of it.

I blame my obsession with killing more zombies than people on Xbox LIVE.

I HAVE TO SURVIVE OR THE WITCH WILL RIP MY FACE OFF!

Oh and my mother for getting me addicted to Mountain Dew.
  • To follow along with the JOKE (because it seems that a few of us missed the post saying that this was meant for fun and games):

I would like to thank Ronald, Wendy, BK, the Colonel, and that silly little chihuahua for their disgustingly tasty fast foods. Next up would be my eyes for ALWAYS being bigger than my stomach. Finally, my Italian-American heritage which promotes as much overeating as one can muster in a day.

I'm going to point a finger at Verizon, video games, and Old Spaghetti Factory.

(... it's ok, OSF. I still loveses yous.)
  • Mine would have to be because of the abusive relationship I was in. I was unable to do the things I needed to keep myself healthy and now I am paying for it. But I have divorced him and am fighting for custody of my son and losing weight to start life anew!

And Wendy's for their nomsious chicken nuggets :)

I blame the metabolism that was my best friend most of my life and then failed me just when I needed it most.

What I ate was my own responsibility, but mostly comfort and binge eating triggered by my family and my circumstances. I put particular blame on my mother and step-father and an abusive ex.

WOW, I posted this as a fun joke but some of you have had some real trauma in your lives and for that I am sorry:cry: Since I accidently posted this in Motivation and Support I will say this... No matter what our weekenss, vice or reason... We are HERE making better choices and changing our lives for the better! Hang in there! Remember that YOU are STRONGER then Little Debbie or Ronald McDonald...in some cases your abuser or your disorder! OH and remember to LAUGH!!!!!! Lauging is what makes life worth living!
  • In the beginning of my life, it was my parents. I was fed way too often as baby and toddler. I became addicted to food. Then becuase I was overweight as a kid and teen, I'd get picked on and I'd turn to food to console myself. I once hid a jar of peanut butter in my room and ate the entire thing. But now that I'm older, what I choose to eat is solely my choice. I don't really a lot of junk food....I just eat too much of good stuff.

I could put the blame on sandwich meat, hershey bars, totinos pizzas, spaghetti and cheese!
  • I blame myself for always turning to food, when I am overwhelmed, stressed out, picked on by society, not feeling great about myself. I just need to get back on my feet with living a healthy lifestyle.
