I LOST 94 LBS SO FAR AND WANT TO REACH MY GOAL OF 145. I CAN USE SOME SUPPORT RIGHT NOW BECAUSE IT IS GETTING HARDER. I SEEM TO BE LOSING MY MOTIVATION. I FEEL HEALTHIER AND THAT IS WHY I FINALLY DECIDED TO LOSE WEIGHT. I'M A BINGE EATER. I WILL LET SOMETHING UPSET ME AND THEN I WILL EAT ALL THE WRONG FOODS OR JUST WAY TOO MUCH. I AM TRYING TO FIGHT THIS AND HAVE BEEN DOING QUITE WELL CONSIDERING IT IS A LIFELONG HABIT. IF ANYONE HAS THE SAME PROBLEM,I WOULD BE INTERESTED TO KNOW HOW YOU CONTROL EMOTIONAL EATING. THANKS.

Hi, I have the same problem with emotional eating. Just about anything can and will set me off! I have lost weight in the past with very unhealthy ways. I am going to turn 30 in July and I want to be free of the weight physically and emotionally. I have decided to stop being so negative and abusive to myself. I need to treat myself with the same respect that I treat everyone else. I wish you luck with the rest of your journey. You have done an excellent job already!!!

  • FAITHBUG,

I WISH I HAD DECIDED TO BEAT MY PROBLEM AT AGE 30. I WOULD HAVE HAD SO MANY MORE YEARS OF GOOD HEALTH. I NEVER REALLY GOT A GRIP ON EMOTIONAL EATING AND DID IT ALL MY LIFE. THE YO YO DIETING WAS ALWAYS WITH ME.I DID NOT GAIN THE BULK OF MY WEIGHT UNTIL AFTER 50. AT THAT POINT I JUST GAVE UP. MY HEALTH WENT DOWN HILL FAST. SO, I FINALLY STARTED EATING THE RIGHT FOODS AND EXERCISING AS MUCH AS I COULD.
I WISH YOU THE BEST. IT CAN BE DONE. I MADE MANY EXCUSES OVER THE YEARS,BUT NOW I KNOW THAT IT WAS JUST TAKING THE EASY WAY OUT. IF I HAD PUT THE EFFORT INTO IT AND VALUED MYSELF ENOUGH,I COULD HAVE WON THE BATTLE YEARS AGO. WHILE I STILL STRUGGLE WITH BINGING WHEN I GET UPSET,I CAN STOP MYSELF MUCH MORE OFTEN. MY HOPE IS THAT ONE DAY SOON I WILL BE ABLE TO USE CONTROL AND STOP AND THINK BEFORE I GO RUNNING TO A REFRIGERATOR FOR COMFORT. FOOD DOESN'T REALLY MAKE YOU HAPPY, IT JUST MAKES YOU FAT.

THANKS FOR THE ADVICE AND THE GOOD WISHES.

Congratulations on your choice to better your life!

Eat well, and track your calories, weigh yourself weekly (although I admit--I weigh daily! :embarassed: ) and measure, measure, MEASURE your body parts!

If you like to read inspiring blogs, take a look at mine  located here at MFP (the address is in my signature).

Friend me, if you like. (click on "ladyofivy" just above my picture to the left, and then click on the green button that says "add as friend")

 I am always here to listen and support! :flowerforyou:
