Hello everyone,
I recently bought my first HRM. It's a purple GAIAM model and it doesn't have a waist strap. I programmed my personal info in it and it tells me how many calories I've been burning - but these calories seem liek a lot! All this time I've been underestimating my calories burned? Is this accurate? HELP!
Thanks!
Diana

make sure you've got your fitness level in it correctly. I've got a gaiam also, surprised yours didn't come with a chest strap! It's kinda vital for accuracy. I'd keep an eye on discount websites for one with a chest strap. If you've got yourself at beginner you're going to burn higher and therefore possibly overeat. I set mine to athlete for the lowest burn (which really just means I only burn high when I get the HR up consistently) beacuse i'd rather undereat a little than overeat! good luck!0
