Question on weekly calorie intake

Here's an interesting question my husband posed to me last night. I track my calories every day and count the day victorious if I am under. When the week is nearly over and I have that deficit that has built up over the week, can I use that to make my "splurge" day not so bad? Don't get me wrong - if I plan on splurging I make sure I work out even harder and burn some extra calories, but I still go over calories for that day...So do those left-over calories I had earlier in the week make up for that too?

I look at weekly calories more then daily , just my personal view, it fits when i want to do intermittent fasting (IF) and also smooths out the numbers so you can see a bigger picture so to me yes your calorie deficit from earlier in the week could be used later on, this is the main principle of IF though0
