What makes this time DIFFERENT from all the other times you have tried and failed or tried, suceeded then failed again to lose weight?

For me it's:

1. I am turing 30 this year, I want to be a normal healthy human being in my 30's and the rest of my life. I'm not getting any younger here!

2. I making exercise a major part of my everyday life, seeing it less like a job and more like "Me Time" where I focus on improving myself and not on just being a wife, mother and employee.

3. My kids are the best motivation there is in the world. Hearing them say "good job Mom" and cheering me on so I will have more energy to play with them and set a good healthy example for them in their lives.

What makes this time DIFFERENT for you?

So far the only difference is that I am using MFP. Hopefully that will get me through the entire year instead of breaking down half way and letting life take over again.
When I have to face depression I will know if I can be different this time around.

    Great post!

What makes this different for me?

    1. Same as you, making exercise a habit and actually enjoying it these days!
    2. Coming up with a menu that I actually LIKE to eat whitin my calorie budget
    3. Surrounding myself with people who are positive and cheer me on
    4. Really modifying my lifestyle to support my plan. Which is another way I guess of saying putting myself first.

This time is different because I have actually set a definite goal for myself. Last year I said I wanted to be 130lbs, but in my mind I didn't think it was achievable. So, when I got to about 137, I kind of figured that was enough. Now, after seeing so many amazing success stories on here I know that my goal is definitely attainable.

I'm also realizing a lot more that this is a process. Again, last year I lost 10 pounds pretty quickly, going from 147 to 137 in about 8 weeks. Then the weight loss started to slow down and I got frustrated. I needed to realize that my goal was possible, but only with a lot of patience. It's still difficult to think this way some days, but I keep reminding myself that if I'm consistent and persistent, I WILL get there eventually.

This time is different becasue even though I'll fall off the wagon I'm going to always get back on. Instead of throwing in the towel and and doing/eating/ lazing was much as I want. I won't think "why bother, it'll never happen anyway," like I have in the past.
