    It's sad when people die. It's also sad when people go on cruises instead of taking awesome holidays. This thread broke my heart twice.

    R.I.P. Don C! At first I was a lil upset that this turned into what it did but sadly I couldn't help but laugh.

    here's the thing though. he was 75 and in failing health. so, as far as i can see, he took himself out of the race before life became unlivable. i don't see that as something to mourn over. and if he was anything like me - and i have no reason to believe he wasn't - he would appriciate this.

    SHERMAN OAKS, Calif. (KTLA) -- Don Cornelius, who created the show "Soul Train," was found dead at his Sherman Oaks home Wednesday morning in an apparent suicide, the LAPD confirms.

    Police found Cornelius' body around 4 a.m. at his home in the 12600 block of Mulholland Drive.

    He was taken Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

    Cornelius, 75, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to law enforcement sources, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the investigation is ongoing.
