quick questions about eating out

Why is it that we ALWAYS go out to eat when it's someone's birthday? Ugh, that's not my question, it's just frustrating, cause we have a lot of b-days in my family this month and we're going out for ALL of them. This time it's Olive Garden. Does anyone know if they'll give you lunch sized portions for dinner if you request it? I was looking at they're nutrition info and I'd be able to get my favorite dish (chicken parmesean) if they give me the lunch portion. Otherwise it's linguine alla marinara for me, which I'm sure will be yummy. Also, if you request the low fat dressing for the salad does your whole table have to get it? Or will they bring out a salad with the low fat dressing just for me? Thanks.

I'm not sure if they will give you a lunch portion, but one thing that usually works for me is if you can ask them to box up half of it for you before they even bring it to you. Or ask for a box as soon as they bring it, and you can take half of it home right up front. Your family may laugh or make comments (mine sometimes does), but they aren't trying to do the things that I'm doing. Hope this helps a bit.0

Hey I hear you- I'm in a sorority so its like an every other week thing someone has a reason to go out for dinner. Olive Garden will give you lunch portions at dinner, but they may still charge dinner price. If you don't like that deal, you could ask for a togo box with your meal and box up half of it before you even start eating. And I ussually get the low fat dressing and no cheese on my salad there and they bring you your own. Just watch those breadsticks!0

Thanks! I don't mind too much if they charge me dinner price for lunch portions. Small price to pay for health I'm afraid if I ask them to box up have the dinner It'll be sitting in the box screaming for me to eat it. If I do that I'll have to have a family member hold it for me out of my sight! LOL0

I know how you guys feel. If the food is in front of me and it tastes good, I will eat it!! Good idea with having them box up half of it before they bring it out. Thanks!0
