I watch lables closely, but I think I was mislead this morning. :(

I made hot cereal according to the directions on the box. Then, I went to log the calories and found that it was 190 calories per 1/3 cup and I THINK it made about a cup! 570 calories OUCH! I guess I won't have much for lunch!

Pssst...look at the label again, it may not be as bad as you think. Most cereals have info on the label for the dry uncooked cereal per serving. If you cooked it using plain water, then no extra calories added. If you cooked it with milk or butter you will have to add those in separately. For example, plain oatmeal.....1/2 c dry uncooked comes out to around 150 cals. Put that in the bowl, add 1/2 c water and microwave. You get about 1 cup of cooked oatmeal, but the calories stay the same.

Maybe you read the label before your coffee this morning... :drinker:
