I am thinking about getting a Fitbit but I would like to hear from anyone using one before I do. Thanks.

I got one a year ago for my birthday. I loved it! However after about six months it broke-the plastic casing cracked down the middle and fell off and I couldn't wear it. Fitbit was really good about replacing it with a new one. However, after another six months or so the exact same thing happened! A crack down the middle of the plastic, and the casing came off. This time when I emailed fitbit, I got no response.

I was really sad, becuse I loved counting my steps and all that. I decided not to get the newest one, that counts stairs and all that, because I can't afford to replace them every six months when the plastic cracks. (I wore it exactly where they tell you to, in betweent he cups of the bra, so it's not like I was unusually rough with it).

Now I use a HRM for my workouts to get my calorie burn. After wearing a fitbit for a year I have a decent idea of when I'm being active enough to hit my 10,000 or more, but I have to admit when I found out it uploads to MFP, I was almost tempted again....almost. :-)
  • whats a fitbit? always interrested in new things

I was curious too. I have heard mixed reviews so also looking for feedback.

  • I have had my fitbit for about a month now and I like it alot. The only problem I have with it is added steps while driving that you have to account for if you want accurate measurements.

I do find it helps motivate me to be more active and make my daily 10000 step goal. Plus the integration to MFP is really nice.

dragonflybl fitbit is a little device you can keep in your pocket that tracks your steps, distance and flights of stairs climbed, it costs $100 but I think its a pretty cool gadget

I've been using a fitbit for the past 2 weeks and I love it. Being able to see your activity graphed for the day really makes you aware of how little moving you do and motivates you to get up and move a lot more. I feel it can definitely help to make lifestyle changes that really matter... like taking the stairs and not the elevator. If your a numbers/stats geek, like me, you will especially love it. It's also very discreet.
