You can't trust the scales...

I get really bummed out when after having worked espescially hard and being really good about food, I step on the scales and find out I've gained....

I read everywhere that it's normal but I wanted to "cure" myself of the dependancy to always check the scales so I decided to try an experiment: I got on the scales at intervals of 45 minutes all morning without taking any food, drink or needing to go to the bathroom....................Well, every time I got on I got a different weight???????????? Sometimes higher and sometimes lower, go figure. (And it's a super dooper digital scales).

So that tells me something: " Keep working hard and don't rely too much on what that scales tells you. It will all work out in the end".

The best scale to use is the mirror, in my opinion. ;)

I prefer taking photos with a self-timer. Changes in the mirror happen gradually, but taking photos every month or so, I can put them side by side. Plus, I'm more objective with photos.

Mine give a different reading each time sometimes but I often find they are within a range. eg when I started last June I'd get between 12st 5 and 13st, now I'm getting readings between 9st 12 and 10st 2. I got 10st the most out of 6 times every morning for most of the mornings so used that as my weight.

They give you a rough guide and I can't wait until the entire range of weights I get are all under 10st! The fact I gone from size 20's to fitting in 14's was also a clue! .. along with waist and tummy shrinking and measurements going down!!

I have done the same thing with my scale. I laughed when I saw the differences in weight and how much it would fluctuate. Its a game for me now.. I go by how I look in the mirror, how I feel and how my clothes fit.
Water retention can play such havoc with weight, same with measuring tape. So use more than one tool to track your progress. That is all a scale is, its only a tool it isnt what is going to determine what your life is like.. That comes from within you..
