8lbs left to lose, change goals now?

I only have about 8 lbs left to reach my goal weight. I am now more concerned with getting my BF% down and losing inches, rather than worrying about those last few lbs. I have my MFP goal currently set to "lose 1 lb per week". This gives me 1280 calories per day. Should I change my goal to "lose .5 lb per week"?

Give it a try for a few weeks, you are so close to your goal and if you're not worried about the number on the scale at this point the extra calories might help you build some more muscle so you can tone and tighten up!0

Yea, I'm going to try it out to see if it works. Thanks.0

I try to eat my maintenance (2300 cals) and little over to build muscle. So the 1st week I increased my calories 500 per day and lifted real heavy.
My results were:
Exact same scale weight 180.2
and BF% went from 11.5% to 11.2%.
I'm doing the same this week. We'll see it it works but I know I'll have to fine tune it.0 -
I'm in a similar place as you -- 5'7", and I started at 155 lbs and hope to end up somewhere in the low 130's. I've been trying to answer the same question lately -- what should I do now that I'm getting close? I've been hovering at 139-140 this week. I too want to work more on decreasing my BF%.
For now I think I'll keep doing what I've been doing over the past two months (I have it set for 1 lb/wk, but I generally eat about 200 cal under that and have lost 15 lbs in 9 weeks). I've been going to strength training class 2-3 times a week and I plan to stick with 3x if possible and have 100g protein most days. I've been doing cardio 5-6 times a week and when I'm essentially at my goal weight I imagine I'll do less cardio. I feel like the weight came off easier for the first 12 lbs so I don't really want to up my calories before I actually get to my goal weight for fear that I'll get stuck at 140.0 -
I've got around 10lbs-ish to lose and have recently upped my calories to 1400 (set to lose .5lbs a week) and am eating some of my exercise calories back - only been doing it for a week and still lost a pound on last weigh in - the upside is I have lots more energy and am finding exercise much easier!0

I am the same and I am on 0.5 lb loss. It gives me 1460 cals. I'm not hungry and I am still losing. Go for it0
