Hi everyone!

I am a "not-so-new" new MFP member who has been using this site since January and I decided it was time to finally 'come out of the closet" and introduce myself! What a great site this is!

I have been taking it slowly, but steadily and am delighted to report that I have lost around 25 lbs so far! (I guestimated my starting weight, probably a little low, but I will ask my Dr on my next appointment what my weight was last time and then I will have a more accurate measure.)

I started a new job at the same time as I found this site - looking for a calorie counter on line. New environment = new habits and this has been a great place to help keep me on my new track.

As part of my approach to self-discipline (a rare commodity in my life!) I delberately waited to sign on to the message boards. I tend to want to chime in regularly, so a little restraint was good for me. I've been lurking in the background:glasses: , reading your posts and getting to "know" many of you and I am delighted to see so many "regulars" - this is the most 'communing' community I have ever seen in a forum.

Thanks for all your vicarious support and I'm looking forward to a more connected future!

Funny you should say that....my biggest accomplishment has been following through on swimming 3 times/week since I started MFP. I really want to paddle in our local dragon boat festival in June, so that has been my motivator. I actually just commited to putting a team together and I'm really excited. My kids have been competitive sprint paddlers for years (my son is an Ontario Team Carded canoer) and this is the first time I will be on the water racing instead of on the shore cheering. The best part is my kids will be in the boat too!
