I have been struggling with my weight all my life. From the time I was in 8th grade until my freshman year in college I was over 200 lbs. In my freshman year in college I must have dropped 25lbs just because of my change in environment (close proximity to a gym and access to salad bars at almost every meal! Not to mention all the time outside). Now I am 180lbs and I desperately want to lose that last 25lbs.:noway:
All my life my friends have all been prettier and smaller than me, and it has made me really uncomfortable to ask for help. It has only been recently that I have been talking to people about my goal to lose weight.
It just seems so much harder this time. The exercise has never been a problem. I am very active, but somewhere between diet, water consumption and stress I have been totally unable to lose weight.
I have the motivation, I just really need the support.
Please help! I know this site has helped a bunch of you, and I could use some positive ideas.
Thanks everyone!

You came to the right place. There is a lot of love and support at this site. Congratulations on your weight loss so far. You can and will lose the last 25 pounds. U did it before and use that same energy to keep going. This can be a tough road, but remember easy come, easy go. So if it becomes too easy to lose weight then it will be too easy to gain it. When we work so hard to lose it, we will realise that to get rid of that chocolate cake we just ate, it would take 3 or 4 hours on the treadmill, then we will make wise choices. And I personally hate the treadmill:laugh: confession. There I said it. So in the gym I use all the other cardio machines and stay away from the treadmill. Simple choices like Eat this and not that, or do I sleep in or get up and exercise, Do I eat out or cook at home? I have had such a rough time losing the last 45 but I will never give up. One day if I continue eating right and exercising my body will change. SO keep it up and DON'T GIVE UP. Once again, WELCOME!!!!!!!:happy:0

Hi, and welcome to THE best site on the web!
I've been really heavy for most of my life, and when you have a thin twin sister, believe me, THAT really sucks! :grumble:
I've tried just about every "diet" out there, including hypnosis, TWICE, and NOTHING really worked until I came to MFP. I can't say enough good about this site! It's NOT a diet, it's a "lifestyle change". And it REALLY, REALLY DOES WORK!!!
Between the easy to use food counter (which by the way is SUCH an eye opener!) and all the wonderfully supportive members, you WILL be able to lose the weight that you want to, AND, it'll "almost" be easy doing it!
I recommend logging ALL your foods BEFORE you have them, rather than later, as it tends to lead to better food choices. (not to mention you'll know if you've got enough numbers left to have a night time snack, like I ALWAYS try to do!) Some people also like to weigh and measure some things, such as meats, rather than just estimating and possibly being WAY off! :noway:
Also, drink lots of water, that seems to help alot too. :drinker:0 -
Congratulations on your choice to better your life!
Eat well, and track your calories, weigh yourself weekly (although I admit--I weigh daily! ) and measure, measure, MEASURE your body parts!
If you like to read inspiring blogs, take a look at mine located here at MFP (the address is in my signature).
Friend me, if you like. (click on "ladyofivy" just above my picture to the left, and then click on the green button that says "add as friend")
I am always here to listen and support! :flowerforyou:
