If I get a side salad and light ranch from Jack in the box to eat with my lunch does this disqualify me from saying that I havnt eatin fast food?

Heres the story.. I am a fast food junkie! Mad addicted, like I would eat it for every meal every day If I could afford it :noway: so I decided to really rev. my body in to shape and for myself I was not going to eat fast food for the next 30 days at all. I would allow myself a few meals out a restraunt since I often have business lunches to attend but I would not drive thru or walk in to any place my food takes 5 mins or less to get lol so this morning I planned my lunch however I noticed we where out of lettuce :-( I had already cut up all my veggies for a salad and didnt have time to go to the maket. Right next strore to my work is Jack in the Box, so I thought I would just pick up a small side salad and use half the packet of ranch on it and add my veggies I brought from home- Harmless enough but I dont want to "cheat" on my no fast food commitment on the other hand I need my fiber lol

I know it may sound lame but I dont stick to a whole lot so its important to me I see this through, so...
Side Salad okay or Cheating?

I'm pretty sure that's up to you. It has to be your definition of "fast food". Is a side salad and light ranch part of your fast food addiction? Is it something that's going to cause you to crave burgers and fries?

No, I wouldn't call that cheating.

I think your side salad is totally acceptable.
It's not like you said, "Well, I'm out of lettuce, so I'm going to grab a burger and fries!"

Totally agree! I also get why you want to make sure that you "stick to something", it is important to feel like you have control and power to achieve your goals. One thing I would say is to make sure you don't beat yourself up if you go a little off track- the track doesn't go away just because you hopped off for a second! Just a thought :flowerforyou:

Sounds like you have tons of motivation and are making great changes. Best wishes!
