The journey just got LONGER!!!!

I just want to cry so badly. I keep losing my pound a week, and I have been so excited of reaching the 20lb mark and I still feel good HOWEVER …

I have been saying my height is 4’ 11.5” and I have been basing my BMI information on that this whole time. So … I have shooting for my first goal target weight of 125, because it would put me at the max of my healthy weight, BMI.

I see my older children growing, and seeing them measure their height, I started to want to be CERTAIN that my height is what it is but I SWEAR I have shrunk.

Today I took a pen and stood my back to the office wall and marked the top of my head on said wall.
I then grabbed a tape measurer and measured the ground to the line …

I HAVE LOST AN INCH IN HEIGHT!!!!!!!

I haven’t checked my height since I got my license when I was 16 I think .. and who knows … I could have been wrong for whatever reason but I am 4’ 10.5”.

So of course I go and check my BMI.

I am now 9.5 POUNDS AWAY FROM MY MAX HEALTHY WEIGHT OF 121.7 in stead of the 5.3 pounds away I THOUGHT I was. This SO sucks!!!

My ultimate weight goal still remains 115 though … I think being on the higher side of my BMI is going to be OK due to my body frame.

But yea … any tips out there on how TO GROW AN INCH!!!!

The cookie cutter 'ideal weight' is not everyones 'perfect weight'
  • Maybe you could have the doctor measure you just to be sure. I bet you're bound to make a mistake when trying to do it by yourself. Even if its true that you did lose an inch in height, it still isn't that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things. ou have done great so far and will continue to do great! Be encouraged, not sad:flowerforyou:

Believe it or not, but doing yoga or other stretching on a regular basis can help you gain your inch of height back. Lengthening your muscles in your legs and spine can actually make you taller. When people begin to 'shrink' as they get older, usually their bodies are just compacting as a result of not stretching enough. So it's something to think about!

*edit* It can also depend on when you measure yourself. They say that we lose up to an inch of height from the time we wake up in the morning to the time we go to sleep. You spine compacts as you walk around during the day and your spine readjusts and lengthens while you sleep *

Meee tooo 4.10 .5, but sometimes I measure 4.11.5. Weird huh? Keep checking.

Also, sometimes I just round up to 5 even.

Yoga might help if you have lost height (probably won't do much if you've always been that height). I don't think it will help you get back the full inch, but it certainly can't hurt!

I was kinda kidding about the growing an inch but ya?? Yoga??? Sure, i'll give it a go!!

It's seems so unfair .. for us little petites ... we are sort of expected to be tiny all around ... but we love to eat pizza and burgers just like everyone else!!

Over all .. i have always loved being little ... and i will find the most comfortable weight for me whether or not it's ... like ChantyBear said ... "cookie cutter".

    You gals are great!!!

I wear heels every day of my life and it gives the a lift of 2 1/2 - 3" anyway ...

I'm so glad i'm not the only one who "lies about their height" sometimes!!!
