Polar FT4 vs FT7?

Okay....so I am for sure buying a hrm next week and I've narrowed it down to the FT4 or the FT7. Polar seems to be the favorite and trust worthy brand for an accurate hrm.

My question is mainly for those with the FT7...do you ever use the extra features like the online/computer data graphs and stuff? It really appeals to the tech geek within me, but I'm wondering if it really helps any body. Or do you just end up using it for calorie counting and that's it. Cuz then why not save a few dollars and get the cute pink FT4.

Also does the FT7 let you set the VO2 max thing? Does that make it more accurate? I don't even know what Vo2 max means....can anyone please explain.

So FT7 vs FT4?

Is the FT7 worth the extra dollars?

My DH has the FT7 and he purchased the additional gadget that allows him to sync it up on the Polar website. He likes that feature a lot, interesting graphs and stuff. IDK if it lets you program in VO2 max or not.

I have the FT4 and it does what I need it to do for now - all I care about is the calorie estimation, don't currently need any other bells and whistles so it works for me. Although I do somewhat envy the niftier gadgets that others have (like the BodyMediaFit). Whenever I get the chance I plan to get a BMF.

I own an FT4, I like it, it does what I want it to do. I don't know how much i'd use the graphs and whatnot. I think it would be cool, i just don't know for me if it would be worth the extra money. I really like my FT4 though.

I have the FT4 and I love it. It's easy to use if youwant basic heart rate, calories and time. I had a FT7 and never used the fancy features.

FT4 here. It does the heartbeat, calories and I find it extremely useful for seeing when my heartbeat gets down to 120 beats per minutes inbetween reps during interval training, indicating I should do my next rep (of whatever I am doing).

    Brilliant little gadget.
