eating right while travelling

Every weekend (some full weeks) for the next months I'm going to be on the travelling for different gigs.

This weekend is semi local as in I get to come home at 5am. Problem is from dinner til then the only food is whatever is set up at the buffet (usually unhealthy snacks and greasy fingerfood). I won't be able to get a work out this weekend either.

Next weekend Ill be put up in a nice hotel, its either room service that too expesive or fast food. I do this event once a month and have made it thru the weekend on munchies I bring to save money, but in this hotel no fridge, no microwave, just a coffee pot. I usually bring cup o noodles but the sodium is so high.

The weekend after that is the big boy. Travelling out of state.
~Day one in the truck for 4+ hours, then set up for 6 hours (hauling boxes out of trucks), breakfast is what you can grab before jumping in the truck that morning, lunch doesn't exist and dinner is whatever fast food joint we see on the way to our hotel. There I get to fight 3 other chicks over who sleeps where and who gets shower first.
~Day two and three my day starts at 6am and I have to attempt to eat whatevers in the hotel breakfast while having my hair, make-up, and costume put on me ( usually includes 6in heels, mini skirt, corset and hair extensions). My day goes til usually 8pm of standing around, posing for pics, and taking money). Lunch doesn't exist and dinner is whatever fast food joint we see heading back to our hotel to fight for shower.
~Day four start just like day two and three but this one ends around 4pm. I'm allowed to change clothes so I can do break down (hauling boxes back into the truck). Depend on how long this takes we either finish like the other days and have a day 5 or we head home.
Those 3days I live on chocolate and coke. I have a friend in security that keeps the caffine flowing for me.
~Day five or heading home. 4+ hours in the truck, usually more like 6 with traffic. Lunch is gas station munchies when we stop for gas. Dinner is always Outback Steakhouse. Its a tradition and boss pays.

Just to come home and the next weekend start it all over again. This will go on as far as I know thru to mid April. Probably after that too. Its my job.

I need better options so I can stay on track. I'm doing so good right now but work is picking up again. I don't want to mess this up.

If you're in a hotel with free breakfast, grab a few apples for lunch or snacks.

Eat one packet of oatmeal for breakfast. Steer away (or run from) the waffle iron, sausage patties and whatever that s--t is they try to pass of as eggs.

Order salads without cheese or dressing - cuts upwards of 200 calories right there.

Even in fast food restaurants, the grilled chicken sandwiches are fairly safe calorie wise. Ask what they have for sides other than fries. Chick-fil-A has a green salad, and might have a fruit cup.

And use the food database to pre-plan when you can. See what restaurants are available and scan the database for low-cal options before you're at the counter. Easier to make wise choices if you make them before you can 'smell the Big Mac', so to speak.

Oh, and at Outback, order the grilled fish, no oil or butter, extra veggies, no potato or rice. That will come in at around 600 calories or less.

    OK, I gotta ask....

What is it that you do for a living??

Those are some odd working conditions. Any one of them on their own wouldn't be anything to raise eyebrows, but the combination has me scratching my head.

Just got the menu for tonights event. As expected, greasy fried finger foods, several meatball dishes with random gravies, and lots of baked treats and chocolate everywhere!!! I'm bringing a veggie tray with me but don't know how long that will go.
