Is anyone else using the Xbox 360 Kinect to get fit?

I bought one (ironically) for my boyfriend for Christmas and have been playing it nonstop! I've lost several inches since I started playing it every day (A mixture of The Biggest Loser - Ultimate Workout/Kinect Sports/Kinect Adventures and almost every other game, keeps everything from getting monotonous.)

I have a horrible fear of working out in public gyms, I call it the "everyone is staring at my sweaty *kitten* since I look like an epileptic having an asthma attack" phobia.

  • I use the Kinect and the gym. I mostly just do it at night because I like to work out at one or two in the morning. I use the EA sport active 2 game. It kicks my butt eveyr night. I do like the gym too but I like being able to work out in my undies too. LOL.

I do too... and for the exact same reason. I absolutely love it. :-)
  • I use zumba, your shape fitness evolved, sports and dance centeral for my kinect. Loves it and feels more comforting doing it in your own home. When I go to the leisure I go swimming. :)
  • Me too! My kids got it for Christmas, but I play it a lot. We have Dance Central 2, which gives calorie readings in dance mode and in fitness mode. Love it! I also have the biggest loser game but haven't used it a lot yet. So fun!
  • I have the first Dance Central. That doesn't do calories, does it? Is that a feature unique to Dance Central 2? If so, I may have to get one myself. I use it sometimes. I'm waiting until I finish work at the end of the month and then planning to make it a more regular part of my routine.

I am. I LOVE my Kinect. Had it at launch. My favorite right now is Dance Central 2. The Fitness mode blows EVERYTHING out of the water, including the first DC. You can chose from several modes from a warm up/easy to several cardio modes of about 12-20 minute, then there's a couple of solid cardio works that go from 30-49 minutes. AND you can choose easy to hard modes in each session.

I also have Your Fitness Evolved and the Biggest Losers games, but until I get the zoom, I'm all about DC2 for Kinect.
