So I don't usually post in here, but I made a trip to the store today trying to get some inspiration for some new meals. I really love burgers, so I made this recipe for an Asian-Style Turkey Burger! Trust me, its delicious!!
Ingredients:
4 oz. Lean Ground Turkey
1 tsp of freshly grated Ginger
1 tsp of Red pepper flakes or hot sauce (If you don't like spicy food you can reduce this or omit it, but it gives a nice spice!)
2 Scallions (I used the white and green parts)
1 tsp low sodium soy sauce
1 tsp water (keeps burger VERY moist)
Salt (to taste)
1 Slice of low fat cheese (I used Swiss, because that's what I had already)
2 Pineapple rings
Hamburger bun (I used a whole wheat one that was lower in calories)
Mix the Turkey, Ginger, red pepper flakes, scallions, soy sauce, pinch of salt, and water in a bowl until combined. Preheat a pan on Medium/Medium high. Lightly grease with a quick spray of cooking spray.
Cook for about 4-5 minutes per side. You have to make sure the burger is cooked all the way through! I used a probe thermometer to make sure it reaches 165 Degrees.
In the last minute or two of cooking, put the cheese on the patty and cover pan until melted.
Put on bun and top with two pineapple rings and any other veggies of your choice.
I totaled the ingredients up, and for the things I used, here are the specs:
Calories: 325 Fat: 8g Carbs: 34g Protien: 8g Fiber: 6g
I am going to make some slider versions tomorrow for the game!! I hope you enjoy!
