What exactly is circuit training? My friend told me that alternating squats lunges and light weights and bands with some aerobic activity is not circuit. She says that only serious weight training is circuit. I am just trying to figure out how to enter my activity and get an accurate estimate of calories burned.

I am a PT and in my definition circuit training is alternating a strength based exercise with a cardio exercise to maintain an elevated heart rate throughout the workout. It is a very effective way of getting a workout if done properly.

this! Your "friend" is dead wrong! I do Circuit Training everyday (one strength move-one compound strength move-one cardio) I do 5 circuits with 3 sets of 15 in each rotation.0 -
