USDA ORGANIC

I just bought some Organics organic Almond Milk vanilla from the store i notice a "USDA Organic" Symbol on it. My question is is the USDA the same Big Wigs that have allowed so much nonsense to go on in our food? The reason i ask this is because i don't want to give my money to the "bad guys" who are putting the "good guys" out of business. Is the USDA Organic just the bad guys in a disguise? Pretending that they want the best fresh natural food for us. I am very new at this organic thing but i am wanting to make the switch. I just don't want to be fooled. Thank you for your input.
Sorry if this doesn't make much sense.... It was hard for me to describe but if can help me understand good organic from bad organic (if any) then i would appreciate that. i am tired of being fooled by big companies and want to make the best choices for mine and my families life. We have lived off or "boxed meals" for forever so this switch is going to be hard but i am determined and if i do all the research and work my family will eat better at well. Thank you so much.

Yes, the USDA Organic certification is given by the United States Department of Agriculture. The USDA are not technically "big wigs" or "bad guys." They, along with the FDA, are simply branches of the government who try to balance science, politics and public desire when making decisions about our food and agriculture. You are not giving money to the USDA by purchasing products with the certification - they are government funded. Well, except for the costs the producer/ manufacturer builds into the price for all certifications and licenses, of course, but you pay that for any organic product, which is part of why they cost more than nonorganic.
The idea behind a national organic labeling system is actually to protect the consumer and allow you some peace of mind that the product actually meets organic standards.

Thank you. I was doing some of my own research but its just so hard to know what to believe when the government is involved. Knowing that the "Big Wigs" pay big money to the government in order for the government to make sketchy laws that allow them to ruin nasty/bad businesses really had me questioning our government. I am just so tired of being fooled. You know?0
