Why is it that when i hardly eat anything my sugar goes up??

    Glucagon is a hormone that among many things drives the liver to breakdown its glycogen stores into glucose and release it into the blood. Excess glucagon is typically present in most diabetics (its the target of such drugs as glipizide) and drives excess production of glucose in the fasting state.
