One day a few months ago, when I first broke out my scale, I weighed myself and thought, "that CAN'T be right!" so I stepped on the scale again and it changed by about 3 lbs! I kept getting off the scale and back on and sure enough, it changed!

I have a digital scale I bought at Target about a year ago...

So I noticed most recently, if I step on with my left foot first, I weigh almost 2 lbs less than if I step on the scale with my right foot first!

Does this happen to anyone else? or is my scale actually broken? :blushing:

Try changing the batteries. You can test it out by putting a heavy weight on it that you know weighs a certain amount to see how accurate it is.

    Uneven floor?

I'd step on left-footed from now on. But that's just me.
  • This is going to sound weird... but sometimes right before I step on the scale I'll take a deep breathe and hold it in anticipation. I've notice that this can actually change how much I weigh by quite a bit. LOL

Now I try to just take a deep breathe, let it out and step on the scale. :)
  • My scale always does this too. I have to step on it two or three times before it gives me an accurate weight. I kind of like it because the first time you go on, you can expect the number to be lower the next time you step on it :)

I bought scales from Target as well and have found I can step on it 2 or 3 times in a row and get a different reading.

Will be buying new scales soon I think.

This! Also try moving it to a different location. It also could be (like someone else already mentioned) an uneven floor. If you try both of those things then and it still happens it may be time to invest in a new scale. Good luck!
