Beyond Diet?

So I was browsing the internet and came across this10 minute long video about this new "diet" called Beyond Diet. I regretted watching it because when it was over I felt somewhat discouraged by what they had said. I believe you can eat almost anything within moderation as long as you don't over do it and you exercise. I personally stick to a pretty basic diet with not too many sweets because that's my weakness. If I start eating sugary things it's like I just want more and more. I get my sugar fix by eating a skinny cow or weight watchers ice cream. What made me feel discouraged is their saying the "diet" food you're eating is what actually makes you not lose. Now, I need my special k chip crisps and skinny cow to keep going. They also said wheat bread makes you store fat. I mean... is this really true?? I know complex carbs are good for you... lay off the white starchy stuff. But I always eat wheat bread if I make a sandwich. What does everyone else think about this? I've been sticking with what I've been doing and lost 19 lbs in a lil over a month so the feeling of discouragement is long gone. I'm just trying to see what everyone else thinks! :-)

You'll always find something contradictory to what you "know" or think you know on the internet. Sometimes what we know is accurate and scientific, and sometimes it isn't. Sometimes it's what works for us based on our body and how it deals with certain foods. Remember for a long time eggs were bad for us, and we weren't supposed to eat them, now they're ok., or low-carb doesn't work but for some people it's the only thing that does, meat is bad, meat is good.... Bottom line, if what you're doing is working for you, keep doing it!!!0

BeyondDiet.com is based on eating healthy, fresh, natural, REAL foods in the correct proportions of carbs, fats and protein. You're right - wheat isn't recommended at all. If you actually read about that topic in the Beyond Diet manual, Isabel (the author of the program) explains it all really well. This goes along with the fact that MANY people can't tolerate gluten. There are plenty of other aspects to the program other than the wheat thing though. In my opinion, the great thing about Beyond Diet is that you can decide to what degree you want to follow the recommendations made in the program, and you can work your way into it.0
