My husband and I started our weight loss adventure in December of 2010. When we first started out, we had a singular goal: look good for his best friends wedding. In 6 months time, we lost a combined 136 pounds. But after the wedding, with a a clear cut goal in out sites, the weight loss had slowed to a crawl. In his case it has cease completely. Over the holidays, I packed nearly 20lbs back on. Since after the first of the year, I've hit the gym 4 times a week, but I still need to eat better. He is battling some depression right now, so dieting and exercise hasn't really been at the fore-front of his mind. Today, he suggested that our reason for success those first several months was because we had a common goal, sort of an end game. Now we don't. We were also very competitive about losing the weight- always trying to beat each other week to week on weight lost, calories consumed, and how much we worked out. My question is this: Do any of you have any suggestions on how to re-capture that friendly competition we had going when we first started? Do any of you have an idea of a new goal we can use to get motivated again?

How about planning a romantic vacation on a beach somewhere. (The swimsuits can be quite motivating! LOL) Thinking about a wonderful, relaxing, romantic week together at some all-inclusive resort will keep you on track. It may also help brighten your hubby's state of mind. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

How about a weekend away and the winner gets to pick the place!
or a mutually agreed trip doing something you both always wanted to do (i.e. snow skiing, scuba diving etc)
or plan a party with your family & friends say in 6 months - it can be Wow Check out the New Improved Us! Serve healthy food - (loser has to plan the menu or do the cooking or both!LOL)

    That's just a few I can think of....Good Luck!
