Hi all. I just wanted to post this to motivate those who are feeling impatient. I joined MFP 4 1/2 weeks ago and have lost 11 pounds. At the same time I joined MFP, my good friend started the Dukan Diet. On this diet you eat LOTS of protein, fresh veggies and then eventually work back in "regular" foods. Anyway, many who have done it praise it for its quick loss. My friend was trying to get me to do it and I refused, knowing that MFP was healthier, for the long-term and would be easier to follow. In the first week, she lost 8 pounds! I was jealous and started to rethink my choice. But I stuck to it. After 2 weeks, I had lost 7 pounds. She meanwhile had slipped back over the weekend and had gained 5 pounds in 2 days!! 4 weeks into it, I am down 11 pounds, she is back to square one for a third time. My point is, there are no quick fixes for changing your lifestyle. There will always be "friends" who have loads of advice, think you could be doing better, etc. Stick to your guns and be patient. I have a LONG way to go (50 pounds left to lose) but I know if I am patient and follow MFP I will get there. I also know I have all of you wonderful people for support who are on this journey with me :)

Everyone gets to do things their own way, but good for you.

The problem is not that people can't lose weight, it's that they can't lose it safely and keep it off.
I know you will be able to keep it off since you are taking your time, but also learning how to make longterm changes.

The great thing........this is a lifestyle change, a change in how much & what & when you eat....new habits........not a complete change in eating. For me anyway.
