Half marathon training

Are there any effective ways of training for a half marathon that don't take 2 hours? I only get about 60-70 minutes to train at a time. I did do a 9 mile race without too much trouble, after doing 10k training, but I would really like to up my race mileage. Does anyone have any good training programs that I can do on a time budget?

What might work is two long (40+ min) tempo runs and as many easy runs as you can fit in per week. Total weekly volume is more important than a single long run anyway.
For recommended tempo and easy paces see http://www.mcmillanrunning.com/index.php/site/calculator.0 -

I used marathonrookie.com but when the distances get up there more time is required. With Marathon rookie though, the longer runs happen on the weekend so maybe you could squeeze them in. I do think it is worth the time requirements though. I actually started the training again (did it the first time in the summer) because I missed it so much. Good luck!0

I use runkeeper.com
They have a programme you can follow (you do have to pay for it if you want it to train you via an iPhone) but I believe you can just sign up for the site and have a look at their training programmes.

I think the key is to do a few runs during the week, and long ones on the weekends, adding a mile every week to the long run, which seems sensible.0 -
This is what I used for my first half:

Really user friendly and not too time consuming. Check out the site for other programs if this looks too easy for you. Good luck!0 -
Thanks that is really neat.0
