Eating before bedtime!

I've been trying to lose weight and this site has been a great help in watching what I eat. However, I keep relapsing into old bad habits, the biggest of them being eating late at night, right before I go to bed.

This may be a cultural/nurture thing, as my family usually ate dinner at 9:30 pm and then went to bed when I was a kid. Now that I'm living on my own, I still hold to those habits...eating dinner late or snacking right before I sleep.

Does anyone have any tips or suggestions for me to stop this? I feel as if it's offsetting all of the healthy habits I'm starting to make, like eating well and exercising regularly. Thanks!
