Hello eveyone, I was just wondering what eveyone would eat on a typical day and how many calories they use? I am new to calorie counting but having trouble working out what foods would be best to use my calories on? Is the quality of foods just as important as the calories consumed? Everyones imput would be brill X

Hi Bikini1234:)
How are you getting on with mfp? I've been using it since Jan 2nd and then doing a lot of exercise about 5 times a week (well ish!). I've lost 5lbs since Jan 2nd so its slowly coming off but I've got another 12 pounds to go. Food wise, I'm supposed to be on 1200cals a day, but try and exercise 400cals off each session.
Breakfast: 1 piece granary toast with a poached egg
Lunch: tuna with low fat mayo/prawns with low fat mayo/baked beans on crispbreads (I'm a crunch addict and would love crisps but this is my alternative)
Dinner: A decent meal like chicken curry and rice/ beef and veg stew/ Moroccan fish with mash and salad/ chilli & rice
Dessert: Strawberries with half pot of strawberry activita yoghurt and a 2 choc wafer sticks like cigaroll (sounds dull but really good!)
Usually I like eating out a lot so I use my exercise calories to have decent meals out (the odd portion of chips....yum!).
What do you eat? Are you more focusing on diet than exercise or both? I am finding it hard, but I'm determined as none of my clothes fit anymore and I refuse to buy more - lol! How much do you want to lose?

A lot of people have their food diary open. Take a look at some and get ideas. Mine is open and you can feel free to look through. Some of it's good and some not so but you might get some ideas. Good luck!0

This will be a topic that you wont ever get a straight-solid answer on simply because everyone has different lifestyles. Some people eat about 200 calories every so-many hours. Others, they eat 4 to 6 meals per day, others three meals and two snacks...
IMHO fresher the better. Yes, of course the quality of the food is important to me.... I grow my own garden varieties at home when spring arrives. I purchase nothing but fresh produce, lean meats from reputable sources and create my own meals. I put a good 14 years in as a chef and Im not about to resort to fast-food, take-out or junked, processed, canned foods or frozen dinners any time soon...0
