Don't ask me to work Sunday if you're just wasting my time..

I am a special education teacher at a rural school in one of the poorest counties in the country...for the last 3-5 years, the previous Special Ed teachers did not take care of files properly so this year we were audited and not only have to keep teaching and having current meetings but we also have to fix 3-5 years of mistakes. Our superintendent set a somewhat realistic goal to have 16 of them finished by the 7th...This goal was set 2 weeks ago and was partly reasonable but partly not for various reasons.

So the last 2 Sunday's our SPED director has asked me and the other teacher to come in and work to try and get these finished but she mostly just starts talking and/or complaining instead of letting us work. It ends up being a huge waste of time because it's at least 2 hours before we really get started...As in, we're here at 9 but she doesn't really let us start anything until 11-11:30

I can get more accomplished with my kids in the room than her. But she didn't want us to stay late any day and she didn't want to work yesterday even though that would have been better for both of us...

It probably doesn't help my mood that my husband left today for 6-8 weeks of training and won't be back until that's complete. But really, I hate that she's asking us to come in and work but she won't let us accomplish anything. It's a huge waste of time and very frustrating...

*sigh* okay, venting is over...thanks for listening and please entertain me this afternoon hahah
