I am in a lot of pain when i attempt to do lunges i tried to do them more often thinking if would just be i am not very strong but it hasn't helped. I am fine doing plank& squats do not hurt but if i do lunges my upper legs& knee really feel the pain will this be because of my weight? Or just bad form? If bad form how would i fix this?

  • I tend to think it's likely form, since your knees are fine with squats, etc. Make sure you're straight from shoulders to tailbone and go straight down keeping your knee behind your toes. Don't go as deep into the lunge to ensure you're keeping your form. Slow and steady...you don't want to hurt yourself.

If you attend a gym,or have a workout friend, have them assess your lunge.
  • It sounds like form. Another thing to look out for is making sure that your knees stay laid up with your middle toe. A common mistake is to let the knee drift either to the left or right of the foot putting pressure on your joint.

Also, you could do other equivalent exercises such as the step up or Bulgarian split squat.
