Working moms & workouts

I'm a mom to an almost 1-year-old and returned to work two weeks ago. Before returning to work I was able to go to the gym almost every day (was teaching spin classes up to 3x a week), but now since being back to work I've barely gotten to the gym. I have 5 pounds to lose to get to my prebaby weight and 15 to hit my goal weight. At this point I need my workouts in order to lose the weight (just counting calories won't work alone).
I was thinking of trying to get up at 5am so that I can fit in a level of 30 day shred (right now getting up at 5:30)...and then on the days where my hubby is off (he is a shift worker) then going to the gym right after work.
How are you balancing baby, work, home life & working out???
Any advice??

I wake up at 5 to be at the gym by 5:30. My husband is in charge of morning schlepping of children and I am in charge of after-work pickup/dinner/bath/bed. We both think we are getting a good deal. My husband was always on board (he's a good egg) but he became even more supportive after I got all buff.
If your husband has regular shift hours, I think the after-work thing could work fine. I can't imagine wanting to do a damn thing after work other than collapse ASAP but many people cannot picture pre-dawn gym time. The important things are to establish a routine that will work for you and your family. It can be done...most of us long-timers are doing it! :flowerforyou:0 -
I work full-time and have three children, a 5 1/2 year old, an almost 3 year old and a 6 1/2 month old. I exercise after work. I don't wake up super early though. I usually wake up between 6:30 and 7:00 am. I go to the Y and they have great child watch there for all the kids. Getting in a decent amount of exercise a week would be nearly impossible without their child watch. My husband watches the kids if we miss the child watch hours or child watch is closed.0
