How did you keep your focus after a sports injury?

The biggest initial hurdle many (if not most) of us face when confronted with the need to lose a significant amount of weight is our MINDSET. First of all we need to convince ourselves that we need to lose weight. Then we need to stop all those lacklustre excuses that prevent us from eating healthier and exercising (eg "I don't have time").
So - finally after many, many years - I finally overcame this obstacle. I recognised the need to eat healthier and exercise for the long term 8 months ago and have not looked back. Yes there are days (even weeks) when I have slackened off but by and large I would like to think that I have a healthier mindset. I've been walking, jogging, strength training and playing sport on the weekend.
However, having become injured last weekend (I strained/perhaps tore a calf muscle and can hardly walk), I realised that although my MINDSET is (relatively) strong, I am still limited by what I can do by my own BODY.
The temptation now is to use my body as an "excuse" for losing focus and to slip back into old ways. The fact that I can longer walk properly for an indefinite period of time (my primary form of exercise) is a pretty legitimate excuse!
But I don't want excuses.
So without limiting this thread to any particular injury, I would like you to share any positive stories that you have about any particular injury that you sustained and how you remained focussed on a healthy lifestyle whilst you were unable to properly exercise as you did before. I.e - as the title suggests - how did you keep your focus after a sports injury?
