I am going to start lifting and want to know is it best before or after cardio?

Do about 5 minutes of movements top and bottom to warm your muscles up a bit. Maybe some dynamic stretching. If you lift right, you probably shouldn't be able to do the cardio right after.
If you do lots of cardio before, you'll burn up the energy you need to lift adequately heavy weights.0 -
I always do it before and its working. I've lost about 15 lbs in 3 weeks.0

Check out 'Starting Strength' and maybe some 5x5 programs. You'll save a lot of time and frustration by learning how to properly do good lifts like, squats, deadlifts, bent over row and bench... Vs just doing 5 sets of 10 with a 2.5lb dumbbell!0

You can do them on the same day - just do lifing first, if possible.0
