Is it a good, or bad, idea to eat the calories I exercised in a day?

I am so confused on this topic.

My goal is 1300 calories a day but say, for instance tonight, I burn 600 calories doing an aerobics class at the gym should I actually eat 1900 calories???

What will happen if I don't eat them?

I am not entirely convinced that if I eat 1900 I wont gain weight or not lose no matter how much I exercise but I am also not convinced that 1300 calories in day is enough for someone who does a work out like that.

I dont know what to do.

From what i have been told from doctors is "the more overweight/obese you are, you do not need to eat them back"....however, the closer you are to being in shape and have less fat stores, you will need to eat them back......

Also saw something similar to this on some show about 600lb people losing weight last night and i know thats more of an extreme, but obese is obese and i am obese, so im not eating my calories back as a rule, sometimes i will eat a few of them back, but never all.

I'd say, just do what works for you and good luck!

Also, if i am hungry after a work out, i will just go ahead and eat, if im not hungry, i dont worry about eating them back which is usually the case. I never allow myself to ever "feel hungry".

This is a topic very divided here at MFP some people will tell you yes some no. I try to eat about 1/2 of them.

It depends on how your daily goal is calculated. If it takes into account your daily exercise, then you don't need to log the exercise separately, nor do you need to eat them back. If you didn't not account for exercise when calculating your daily caloric goal, then you should be logging exercise and eating back those cals.
