Watching carb/sugar intake but need more fiber

Hello mfp!!! Ok, so I follow a reduced carbohydrate diet (less than 100g per day). It's working for me (I have an insulin production deficiency) however, I'm having trouble meeting my daily fiber needs. I know that fiber is so important to a balanced diet, however most fiber is in some form of carbohydrate usually partnered with sugar. I eat things like avocados and such to try to get more fiber in, but at the end of the day, it's not enough. Today, I started using benefiber, since I figured I can mix that with foods and beverages I already use. Does anyone have any suggestions to take in more fiber? I don't mind if it has some carbs, as long as it's not packed with sugar.

Suprised u didnt know this as ur low carbing... Eat carbs that are high in fiber!!! Ground flax seed, shredde wheats, oatmeal old fashioned etc...
N when ur counting carbs u subtract the fiber...
Eg.
30 carbs
10 fiber
10sugar
It would be 30-10=20 carbs u just ate0 -

I eat a salad a day with spinach as lettuce. I make sure to eat at least 2 cups of spinach a day, broccoli, veggies with good sources of fiber along with berries. I will make smoothies with 1/2 C yogurt, frozen berries & put in spinach & flaxseed meal. You really can't taste it. I eat flaxmeal "oatmeal". I take 1/4 boiling water, 1/2 cup flaxseed meal, 1 tbsp natural peanut butter, some cinnamon & truvia to taste.
Drink TONS of water!!! That helps me more than anything!! You can also find some good LC flaxseed muffin recipes online. Really, if you look at breads (WW) and such, there isn't much fiber in them. Veggies are packed!!0 -
If you can have 100g a day, try the Thomas English Muffins with double fiber (23 total carbs,8g fiber) and the Mission Carb Balance Medium tortillas (19 g carbs, 13g). Fill the tortillas with protein, try natural PB on the english muffins. I've been0

Kashi Go Lean cereal has good protein & fiber numbers. Flax added oatmeals; there is one called Better Oats (Target). The plain is lower sugar, the flavored ones (yummy ... not low sugar).
