I am from Lino Lakes, Minnesota, a northern suburb of the Twin Cities with an incredible regional park filled with trails and lakes in my backyard.

A job change in my environmental science field resulted in more eating out and less exercise. In 2006, I weighed 245. Now I weigh almost 40 lbs more. As a high school track coach, I stopped running with my athletes two years ago. I've been working very hard to be able to run with them when our season starts in mid-march - just 1/2 mile to the track, but its a start. Eventually I'd like to get down to 215 or so and run a half marathon.

I have committed to exercise before my other interests, such as writing and producing independent films, watching volleyball, watching movies, and reading. I also am watching what I eat, limiting beef to twice a week.

By having the support of friends, both old and new, I think I will succeed. I've been on this site for some time, but this is my first sojourn into the social network here.

I'm welcoming of new friends here  . If I said anything that resonated with you, please send me a friend request.

Feel free to send a friend request. I am 53 now and my weight grew and grew as i got older, til I hit 295 lbs 2 years ago. I lost about 30 lbs following my wife on her weight watchers. but i was still 265, My cholesterol was out of hand and I wasn't loosing any weight. My doctor told me I had to get down to 165-175 for my health. I wish I had found this place 2 years ago I might not have not have had to have a lap band . Don't get me wrong , I think it is probably the best thing I ever did to get me on track. I never get hungry I only eat because i need to have the nutrition. So I would love to help in your journey, if I can be of nay help I am at you service. Thanks Ron
