Meal Spacing

For those who have had success in losing more than 30 lbs... what is your approach to eating. Do you eat small meals throughout the day or do you eat "3 square meals"? I have heard that spacing with smaller meals helps curb hunger (which in itself can keep you on your caloric track). What's your opinion to a new comer who has lost 22 lbs and has 60 more to go...??
