Hello,
Am I the only adult that feels like their trapped in the body of a 15 yo?? I'm 25 and still dealing with acne :frown: If you suffer from Adult Acne too have you seen a doctor about it and what have they told you? What tips have you learned that have helped and what products do you use??

I understand how you feel. I got adult acne around 35. I tried a lot of stuff from my doctor that was expensive and didn't work at all. Then I tried Proactive. IT REALLY WORKS!! Can't live without it now. The best thing on the market. It took about 3 weeks and I started to notice a difference. Hope this helps.0

ditto on the proactiv! It helped me and both of my teenagers who had acne problems.0

I had acne until I was 26 or 27. Tried everything. I took two courses of Accutane (which did the trick, but the side effects of that medicine ... yikes). I used Proactiv (was not worth the money, in my experience). I used Retin-A. Nothing worked. It didn't help that I have VERY sensitive skin on my face. I am allergic to all kinds of cleansers, creams, and lotions.
One day I decided to try the Neutrogena skinID treatment program, which is very similar to Proactiv, because I have always had good experiences with Neutrogena products. Unfortunately, I was allergic to that, too. Then, I bought some of the Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash Redness Soothing cleanser (the green one), and that, along with a good toner and moisturizer, began to clear up my skin. I'm not sure if it was those products or just that I had finally reached the age where the acne went away, but I haven't had real acne since then. I still get a random pimple here or there around that time of the month, but that's it.0 -
Is Proactiv the stuff that Katy Perry advertises on the shopping channels?
I also suffer from spots at 27. I use the Clinique Anti blemish system and the foundation and have found nice improvements since the start. The foundation is amazing
However I still do get some spots, I'm going to make another appointment with a doctor to ask for antibiotics as I also get some on my back And ask to see a specialist this time (last time the douche bag made me feel like I was wasting his time)
I tried benzyl peroxide creams but they really seem to damage the skin, age it and make it thin0 -
I also use the Clinique system for redness. I can't really say how well it treats acne because I no longer had acne when I started using it, but my skin is definitely not as red as it used to be.
I use Clinique everything (cleanser, moisturizer, makeup, etc.) these days because it's very gentle and is the only brand that I be assured will not cause me to have an allergic reaction0 -
I am getting bouts of hormonal acne for the past 6 months or so... i don't know why, it wasn't happening before. Its happening now about a week or so before aunt flow comes.
Anybody know if proactiv will help with that?0 -
Mine started in my 30's after having kids. I also break out on shoulders & chest from sweat while working out. I've tried everything - prescriptions, ProActiv and the BEST product I have found is MURAD. There's a body scrub and a medicated spray you use after washing. Smells like a medicine when it goes on but that goes away and my skin looks the best when using this product. You can get it at ULTA or Sephora. Its around $80 total for both.0

I suffered from this till I was on my early 40's, noting I tried worked, and I tried everything. When I think of how much I've spent over the years!
Then I discovered Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish. It's worked wonders, and I only get the odd hormonal breakout now.0 -
<< oh yea
I've tried many different cleaners, including proactive, murad and even went to see a dermatologist. Nothing has worked. I've given up hope and just learned to live with it. It's a lot less severe these days but it's still there!0
