Trying a new way of eating

I'm trying to eat 6 small meals a day, this is my first day trying it this way. I can tell though that the calories are creeping up faster than I thought and the day is only half over.....

If this happens, what is best to do? Let myself go over my calories for the day, or eat very low-cal for the rest of the day?

The point of eating 6 small meals is to keep a steady flow of calories into my body, so I'm not sure the best course of action.

I totally changed my eating habits that were awful. I eat all day now. celery sticks carrots apples, cucumbers, fresh peppers.you can eat alot of food and still keep to your calories. And in case you are wondering...with my change in diet I had to become reaquainted with fruits and vegetables.....they aren't so bad after all....

I am gathering you are just recording as you are going along your day. Maybe planning what you are going to eat the day or days before might help you keep within your calories for the day. You can weigh and measure your food the night before and be all set for the day.

Yeah meal planning would be a better idea. I am asking for today and in the future. (for when the calories creep up faster than expected).

Stay within your calories for today, but the planning will help after today. It matters, too, if you tend to be hungrier in the morning or evening; I have less appetite in a.m. and heavier appetite in the evening, so although I eat breakfast and lunch, I use less calories there so that I have more in my 'account' for dinner.
