Hey guys, I am pretty new to the site, and trying to account for my caloric intake to figure out what I am doing wrong. Some background on myself... I used to be one of those people who could eat whatever I wanted whenever I wanted and not gain any weight. I have 4 children, and after each child was able to lose the weight (took longer with the first but still managed) without really dieting or excersising. I had my gall bladder removed at the age of 22, and at that point was underweight, because everything I ate made me sick. Once it was removed I gained about 15 pounds and fluctuated between 135 and 140 for several years (had a child during that time, but jumped right back to 138 by the time he was 6 months old) During all of this I ate out when and where I wanted, and did not watch my diet. I was a Mt. Dew addict, never drank water, and drank beer around 2 times a week.

3 years ago I gained 31 lbs in 30 days for no apparent reason. I went to see a doctor about it and they checked my thyroid, did bloodwork and xray, and also checked some other things in my blood, forget what it was called though. Everything came back normal. My doctor suggested to try diet and exercise and so I started this journey. I completely quit drinking soda, cutting around 1000 empty calories from my diet per day/7000 per week ( I drank a LOT of soda back then) and cut my alcohol from average 16 beers a week to none, which cut me another 2000+ calories per week. So just by cutting those empty calories, I was down around 9000 calories per week. Did not lose even 1 lb, actually gained a couple. Started working out 5 days a week at the local gym for about 1-1.5 hours, mostly cardio, but added in some strength training to mix it up... still no weight loss. Changed the rest of my diet around to include less processed foods, less fast food, fried foods etc, and try to eat more veggies, whole/clean foods and nutrients and that helped a little, and lost 5 lbs here or there but it would come right back. I have gone a different doctor to be checked out and still everything seems normal. She put me on adipex, and I am on month two and have only lost 5 lbs total even with diet and exercise which concerned her. My question is.... after cutting that many calories, and exercising, and now doing the adipex even, why did I not lose weight? To be honest I do not miss the soda/beer, and feel healthier, (have been off soda totally for about 2 years now) but I get so frustrated when I am seeing no results on the scale. I have just recently started Jillians 30 day shred, and will be doing day 3 today, and then once I am not so sore from it alone plan to add another exercise to it daily but right now my muscles are killing me so I am just doing it. Any ideas/tips/advice would be great! Thanks!

Also wondering if having no gallbladder can effect weight loss? I know it is supposed to break down fatty foods, or aid in that, so is there a possible relation?
