Cross trainer/bike in 1 vs. recumbent bike, advice needed

Looking for some advice. This morning I broke my cross trainer which I've had and have been using for years. I like using the cross trainer but can't use it for long periods of time, I've always wanted a bike as well but would have preferred a recumbent bike.

I now wish to replace the old cross trainer. I have found both a 2 in 1 cross trainer and bike, along with a recumbent bike I like both in my price range and suitable for me but I really can't decide which one to go for. My main goal is to lose weight, I figure with the 2 in 1 cross trainer and bike I can do a little bit of both but with the recumbent bike I can see myself using it for a lot longer.

If I had the money and space I would take both but unless I win the lottery it won't be happening, and if I did win the lottery I would have my own gym. Because I have a tight budget the two it is between are the;

    anyone? Unfortunately the recumbent bike has now sold out so I need to find another highly stable one under £200.

    Don't know much about either machine. I just bought a treadmill. I was advised to buy an Elliptical for all kinds of great reasons but in the end, I don't like doing the elliptical so I'm not likely to use it. I love the treadmill and have been using it pretty much everyday. Buy the machine that you are more likely to use.

    Thanks for your response. I ended up going for a cross trainer/bike in 1 as I'm used to the cross trainer but can also go at it for a bit longer on the bike. The deciding factor was price though, I couldn't get a decent recumbent bike for under £400 but I did manage to find a decent cross trainer/bike in 1 reduced to £140 down from £350.
