Believe it or not!!

I started on MFP on Jan 3rd. My son is a wrestler and had taken a nutrition class in school and had been telling me for a while, "Mom, you don't eat enough!!". I pretty much did coffee in the morning and dinner at night. So, I started logging on MFP to lose 1 lb per week. I only had 8 pounds to lose and I thought "yeah, I can do this." But I actually had to UP my cal's and started Ripped in 30 for toning and tried to eat my exercise cal's back. I noticed weight came off fast, like 6 or 7 pounds in 3 weeks. Being that I only had 8 pounds to lose, I thought that was too fast, so I changed my goal to 1/2 lb per week. Still it dropped, so I went onto this website, thinking maybe MFP had my cal's too low...http://www.cordianet.com/calculator.htm ...sure enough, according to this website, they were too low. So I manually upped my cal's, not to my TDEE because I hadn't yet bought into the fact that I needed to eat that many cal's, but I upped them from MFP's maintenance number by about 200.
Now, the main reason for my post. I went to the doc the other day because even with working out I had no energy and am completely unable to reach my caloric goal. I feel like I'm eating all day. My son told me to stop worrying so much and enjoy my food. My response..."I can't enjoy food anymore because I feel like I'm just forcing it down my throat all the time."
The doc did do a full panel of blood work which I am waiting for the results as I type. So we'll see if anything is going on there. When I told my doc that I have steadily consumed 1000 calories or less daily for like 20 years, her eye's popped out of her head!!
I've learned from this sight and a LOT of reading that I didn't really need to lose weight persay, I just needed to get toned and back in shape. (I used to run 3 miles a day 5 days a week) <--still on the very low cal diet.
But the long and the short of it is, I can't eat as much as I am supposed too and it's very frustrating!! I'm even eating in my car while I'm driving!! IDK, I think I'm hoping for some advice, but to also let people know that sometimes it's just as hard TO eat as it is NOT to eat.
***Just got my blood test results...everything checked out except i have an elevated white blood cell count indicating a possible infection....chest xray tomorrow and repeat blood work this week....funny thing is, i dont feel sick???

I hope all is well with your xray coming up. When I need more calories I turn to nuts, cook with extra virgin olive oil (120 calories in 1T) and peanut butter. Otherwise, it looks like you are doing pretty well most days.

This sounds so frustrating! I hope it all works out for you. I am so glad you went to the doctor so you can rule out anything else.
I have no problems eating unfortunately. I love cooking and eating everything so I cannot relate but I am so sure someone on here must have some info for you in regards to their own battles which may be similar. Good Luck.0 -
Thanks for your responses. Yes it is very frustrating!! I guess I just need to keep plugging away at it, as everyone does, except in the opposite direction!!
