Females,
Do you guys find yourself NEEDING to eat more around TOM? Not wanting, but needing? I am not exactly craving food, but on my normal 1200-1350 calorie diet, I need more during TOM. I find myself shaky and weakly to the point of dizziness and food always cures it. As soon as I eat a little something it goes away. And its always during TOM, not just normal days….
Any one else?

i tend to crave things around that time and just eat more than normal so i'd say yes lol. i get hungry more and just eating 1200 or around there doesn't do it for me0

I'm not sure about needing, but I sure do feel hungrier...and usually for the "bad" stuff like desserts! I try to give myself a little more leeway during TOM and just throw in a bit more cardio when I have the time.0

Yep. I also can't seem to do anything involving strength -- I can't do as many pushups, I can't do squats, etc. It takes a toll on your body.0

Yes, but I think it has something to do with your iron being lower at that point. Having low iron can make you weak and shaky. It's a good time for a steak...or if you want to try and cure without extra calories, do an iron supplement for a few days.0

Maybe you're low on iron, that can happen at TOM. Check it out with your Doctor.
But i know what you mean!0 -

Good point... I know my mom has low Iron levels daily, and takes iron pills for them. Maybe im low normally too and am more aware during TOM.
Thanks guys0 -
Yes!!! This happens to me every month and it is so annoying and frustrating. The good thing is that usually the next week my weight goes down again but this month has been extra hard for me. Good luck!

I got a Mirena IUD so no more menses for me! But I still do ovulate and I find I need to eat more around that time. I read somewhere that we burn 250 calories more a day during ovulation but without a period to be absolutely sure I'm ovulating, I haven't been able to determine if that's going on with me or not.0

YES!!! And my head/stomach connection don't work as well either. I had a HUGE lunch today, because I was starving and I finished it all (almost 700 calories!!) I was still hungry. I didn't eat any more food, but it took almost 45 minutes before I felt stuffed.
Making sure I have a light dinner tonight!!!0 -
I ALWAYS bump my calories to around 1400 when TOM strikes, the "hunger" as I call it only lasts a day or so, so I don't let it bother me too much.
I don't crave sweets etc, just MORE FOOOOOOD!0
