Okay big problem...I know its probably my fault and I feel like i'm just being a big baby. But since last month my husband has joined a mma class. He attends every other day pretty much. I always get so grumpy when he goes. He gets off work at 4, then has be at the gym by 630 till 9. I'm kinda jelous I guess I should say. I'm a stay at home mom. I take care my 3. Yr old baby girl during the day. Can't afford child "quality" child care. Id perfer she be somewhere I know and can. Trust. So I don't get to work even though id love to go back to work. I have a 4 yr old son also but he's in school. I just kinda feel lke I need to get out and do something with myself also. So everytime he goes I just have a wave of emotions come over me. It makes me feel horrible because I know he enjoys it, and I don't wanna make him unhappy. He just don't understand what its like to be "stuck" at. Home all day long. What should I. Do? Should I really feel like a big baby? Or just get over it?

  • I don't think you should feel guilty. You probably should try to talk to him about how you are feeling. Try not to do it when you are feeling really emotional. Pick a time when you are calm and can talk without getting upset. It is important for you to have time away from mommy duty so you can be fresh and relaxed with her. Also, it is important for her to have daddy time too. I am sure that the mma class helps your hubbie relieve stress and escape the pressures of his job. You just need to help him understand that your job can be stressful too. Mommies need downtime too.

Don't feel guilty - but talk to him about it.
It sounds as though it is new and exciting for him and taking up lots of his time. That's OK, but the two of you need to balance out the time you have together and make a plan that works for both of you.
Is there a class or something you want to do a few times a week ? Sit down and talk to him and tell him that you are happy that he's having fun with a new hobby and you want a break from your job (ie stay at home mum) too.
