I have everything how I would like it to look except my core area needs some toning and tightening! What are some great exercises that work the core? Especially my sides and lower back?!

Sorry I'm not going to be of much help, but planks are supposed to be really good (and I try them and they are quite difficult).

    Also, bump.

This is the best reply you will get.

But it you don't have access to a gym or the equipment planks are probably the bast option. Avoid sit ups and crunches: they are too easy to get wrong and therefore likely to cause lower back or neck injury.

Planks (side, and standard), mountain climbers, push ups, like the previous posters said heavy squats and deadlifts, anything with the bosu or balance boards... oxygenmag.com has a lot of home-based workouts for women! And for lower back? My FAVORITE is good mornings! And it'll be a good morning for you, once you master those :)

As has been said, squat and deadlift... unbeatable.

I find in particular Front Squats (barbell across your front delts) awesome for core strength as its a battle just to keep stable.
