.......to feel colder when dieting?
If anyone is aware of any studies that would explain why I feel colder and need to wear more clothing during my diet days (it doesn't happen on Saturday, my day off) I would be interested to read them.
Similarly it would be good to get a sense from others here if they experience this too.
Thanks

I put it down to reducing the thickness of the layer of blubber formerly insulating my body!
I have seen others on here talk about feeling the cold more since losing weight, and I have noticed it too, which is awesome in the middle of an aussie summer.
I think it's fine, but if you are worried, see your Dr!0 -
thanks folks. Not worried so much as curious.0

I wonder if it's because the body is being deprived of sufficient calories to self regulate temperature. It's busy trying to burn fat to make up the defecit but can't quite do it. There's a sort of logic there. By extension then, is this a sign that you are dieting at the right calorie level - can we use feeling cold as a guide that way? Or indeed does it mean we have our intake too low and the body just cannot convert enough fat to keep us warm and we should eat a little more.0 -
I get cold because my boss LOVES the air conditioner!0

Calories warm your body, so yeah, if you cut calories you may feel colder. A few jumping jacks will warm you up!0

I use to run really hot all the time. My GF constantly complained about the temperature in my apartment. Now, I feel way more normal. I actually get "cold" at times and keep my apartment at a temperature more in line with what human beings like...0

I used to be cold all the time. Now, not so much. I think it's because of all the exercise I'm doing. I believe/hope that it's an indication that my metabolism is getting kicked up and burning hotter. In the past, when I would try to diet but not really do much exercising, then I would get cold easier. So the exercise is the only real difference. I also wonder if the fact that I'm eating more nutritiously is also fueling my body better. Don't really know. Just guessing.0
