So many idea's but such little time, ahem!
Seriously, no idea. Me an my wife have never bothered, just money spinning crap I reckon.
But however if she was going to surprise me I would want something outrageously funny but that's just me.0 -
I'm in the same boat with my bf. I want to do something and he dsnt. Must b a guy thing. I'm just gna cook him a nice meal... Maybe a few things in heart shapes like schnitzels or desert but just keeping it low key coz otherwise he will feel outta place.0

yup it's a guy thing.
Here's an idea for you. Challenge him to a game of pool / snooker / darts whatever?
Might just make him feel that you've taken the time to consider doing a 'GUY' thing.
Would def work for me

Arrange something sporting - Zorbing / Go Karting / Bowling if you want to do something on the day. A nice meal and you presented as you were born later in the evening will be plenty.0

We have very rarely celebrated Valentine's Day the way others do with exchanging gifts and such. Normally I cook some really nice T-bones and shrimp, salad, baked potato for hubby, some wine and then dessert. :smooched: :smooched:
We would rather buy each other random gifts on rather normal days during the year to show appreciation and love, not because some day on the calendar dictates it.0 -
We've always considered it to be a Hallmark Holiday - something made up by companies who want to create an excuse for people to feel obligated to sepnd money. This year he's buying me something I was going to buy anyhow and I usually fix one of his favourite dinners. Even when we were dating it was no big deal although then te dinners tended to have candles and lingere.0

A love coupon book is always a fun way to go. Print out a few coupons and make them into a book. Offer a coupon for a massage, a night of snuggling on the couch, a home cooked meal coupon, a coupon for bikini car wash, a coupon for a sexy photo, and well coupons for specific sexual favours are rather popular I'm told0

We're just gonna make up a hot flask put on some warm clothes n go for walk along the beach (where he proposed to me last summer) unless its too cold! then we'll probably snuggle in the car looking out at the beach! lol cheap and cheerful!0

sounds like he's not into it in a traditional sense.
why not just make it a really fun date night vs. a really romantic one? doesn't have to be all cliche and mushy and red and pink, maybe just do something you know you both enjoy. just making time for one another seems to be the most important aspect of it and maybe make him some cookies or something (I always make my boyfriend food, since it's not like he wants flowers or anything!)
have fun!!0 -
I ususally get him a bottle of some special bourbon that he wouldn't spend the money on himself. This year since we have 2 trips planned it may be just a card and a snuggle.0

My boyfriends not super into it, but he knows I like it so he tries.... a little.
Normally he "can't think of anything to get me" So the way it's worked out the last few years is he's taken me out for dinner and wine. and i'll get him a small present, nothing too crazy but usually something I can get engraved to make it more personal. and I make him a card with something grossly cute on it, as a bit of a running joke.
This year he's getting a picture of a moose thing i drew with "I really caribou you." on it.
I think valentines is meant to be really corny and not very expensive.
so maybe, if you're the one initiating it you could either go out for a meal or picnic, or cook him a nice meal at home accompanied with a card.0 -
nice like that idea0

Hit up the sex shop and show him how fun valentines day can be! lol One year I did that as well as fake rose petals, candles, and some home made choc dipped strawberries. Oh and of course Luther vandross and forcing him to dance with me in the bedroom. 4 years later and he still brings it up0

BJ and a sandwich - he'll be wanting to celebrate it every year after that.
Seriously though, one time with a girl I knew we met up at a hotel for the weekend - as I knocked on the door she opened it in sexy schoolgirl outfit and just starting on the stereo was Marvin Gaye - Let's get it on - ...wah wah wah wahhhh I've been really tryin baby..."
Pure win...0 -

Depending on the work he does you may want to pass on the cookies! Guys are guys and if he works in a field where cussing is openly excepted like outside, construction, porn star(lol) the other guys WILL give him ****...I used to work with all guys (construction not porn start ) and they would give eachother crap all the time about what their wives and girlfriends do/send..just a heads up:)0 -
Me and my boyfriend just go for a meal at a nice place and maybe the cinema. We both enjoy spending time together at a nice restaurant and then have a cuddle while watched a flick at the cinema. :happy:0

Not being into valentines is NOT a guy thing ! I always make an effort .
You don't have to go all out. There's nothing wrong with getting together and having a nice meal with low lighting . Sometimes I take my gf out to a 'more expensive' restaurant that we normally wouldn't go to .
But we always spend it doing something cozy like watching a movie.
This year I'm gonna take her away to Canberra to see the renaissance art exhibition we're having in Canberra . Still deciding on the restaurant to go to afterwards .
It's not much but its an activity we can do together that's special. Means more than just chocolates and roses (which she'll be getting anyway lol)0
