Does anyone else do yoga as a primary form of exercise? How do you log it in MFP? As cardio? As strength? It seems to fit better under strength, but it doesn't lend itself well to listing it as "sets" and "reps". Not quite sure the best way to log it.

Well, you can enter it under cardio but they only have hatha and a plain old yoga that appear to burn the same number of calories. I would do a little research and enter your own "best guess". I mean, if you are doing Vinyasa correctly, I believe you would be burning more than they say. I know it's based on my information, but the burn was really low. If you're doing hot yoga, you'd probably be burning anymore. I need to get back into it. You can truly do yoga and cover all your strength and cardio needs, but you're not going to be putting down massive calories burned here. Long term, it's awesome. Good luck!

I just started doing Yoga(Vinyasa/Hatha in a 104 degree room) and I wear my HRM to estimate my calories burned.
Since HRM's can get affected by heat, I'm not sure how accurate it is but for a 60-75 minute class I burn between 300-500 calories according to my HRM.0 -
OK, I'm a newbie... what's an HRM?0

Ah... Heart Rate Monitor. (I'm a idiot)0

yes - it's my primary as well a pretty full on vinyassa class -
warm but not hot room
I posted re this a couple of days ago here:

I am just using the # they have in the cardio section -
I am quite certain the actually number is higher -
for example - at the end of doing one of those 30 day shred workouts I am tired but just a little sweaty -
at the end of my 90 minutes of yoga I am dripping to the point that I can squeeze sweat from my completely drenched shirt
I don't have a monitor though so I don't really know - healthstatus.com counts it significantly higher
I think it is crucial to consider the other aspects as well -
there is a major clinical study that shows people who do yoga over a 10 year period maintain their weight-
others gain 12 pounds on average
more importantly - researchers found that those who are doing yoga eat a vastly healthier diet...
There are also some new major studies linking replacing antidepressants with yoga -
oh - and then there is the fact that Jillian Michales describes herself as 'inflexible'
(in body and mind?)
yoga builds strength and flexibility in concert - it gives you a body that is usable - not just 'strong'

any way - I obviously 'drank the cool aid' on this one
gotta run - off to class!0 -
Yoga is my main strength training option. Running is my main cardio option.
You only burn probably a couple hundred per hour session regardless of whether it's in a hot room or not. The hot room just lets you drop some water weight. Your actual calorie burn is virtually the same.0 -
Yoga is my main form of exercise. I log it as cardio and initially added the calories myself from researching other sites.0
